About ‘The Links’ Series

'The Links Series' is an expression of the only other passion in my life I could never live without. Whether it's a day on the course or a day in the studio, both activities bring a smile to my face and it only felt fitting to make these two worlds collide.

The concept of the series was born out of the idea that each green on the golf course is completely unique. I wanted to show that both the color and shape of each green is totally bespoke, much like many golfers' favorite hole on their home course. It may look similar to another hole you've seen out in the world, but at the end of the day it's irreplicable in your heart. The 'wipe' of each foreground green represents the abstract shape, undulation, and grain found on courses all across the world.

However, I think the most fun part of the series will be seeing where each ball is placed on the green compared to the elusive pin. Every golfer knows just how difficult it is to hit a perfectly placed approach shot, and I hope to reflect that realistic difficulty in the series. A few rare shots may be pin high, a few paces away. But most will be long putts or off the green entirely. Hell, is this hole being played by two people, or a foursome with two still fighting to find their balls in the fescue? That frustration and desire for perfection is half the fun, and what keeps people at the range til all hours of the night.

I'm excited to see The Links grow as the series takes on a voice of its own. I'm just hoping my handicap doesn't grow beside it!
